  • This famous temple of historical significance was founded by Sai Mahabhakta his holiness Shri.Swami Keshavaiahji.
  • Sri.Swami Keshavaiah worked as Sub-Registrar of Penukonda Town from 1942-1950. He used to conduct Sai Bhajans and Naam Jap regularly in his house. Diseases of many Devotees got cured and wishes of many devotees got fulfilled with the help of sacred Udi given by Sri.Swami Keshavaiahji. Sai Devotees remember Sri.Swami Keshavaiahji every day for this noble deed. Shri.Keshavaiah started this famous Saibaba Temple in the year 1947 and called it “Dakshina Shirdi”. This temple has successfully completed 65 years and Sai Devotees of Penukonda do not forget to thank Shri.Swami Keshavaiahji for this.
  • Shri.Swami Keshavaiah opined that Idol should not be installed in any place in the World except Shirdi. Hence, he installed holy Marble Padukas brought from Shirdi and a photograph of Dwarakamai Saibaba and started performing Pooja. Hence, Sai Devotees would not find any Idol of Shirdi Saibaba in this Temple.
  • Sai Devotees of Penukonda feels that Shirdi Saibaba is a “God who comes on calling” and worship him with a very high degree of devotion. Hence, Akhanda Aradhana, Pooja and Abhishek are performed regularly in this Temple. Special Pooja, Abhishek and Bhajans are performed on Thursday and Sunday.
  • Since 1947, major festivals like Sriramanavami, Gurupoornima, Vijayadashmi (Saibaba Samadhi Day), Datta Jayanthi and Shri.Swami Keshavaiah’s Samadhi Day (9th August) are celebrated in a grand manner. Many Sai Devotees have given donations liberally for the development of this Mandir. The Bhajan Group from this Temple have performed Akhanda Sai Naama Japa for 3 Days and 7 Days on many occasions  in Shirdi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kerala, Coimbatore and other places. Many eminent Sai Devotees like Shri.D.Shankaraiah, Shri.Kuberappa, Shri.Ramaprasad Guruji and Shri.Swami Keshavaiahji’s family have given monetary help and support to this Temple.
Temple Highlights
This temple is situated at Penukonda Town of Anantpur District of Andhra Pradesh. The temple is present near Jain Temple and at a distance of about 1 Kilometer from Penukonda RTC Bus Stand.

The Temple Bhoomi Pooja was performed in 1946.

The Temple is built on own land donated by a Sai Devotee.

The Temple was inaugurated on the auspicious day of Vijayadashmi on 24th October 1947 by his holiness Sri.Swami Keshavaiahji in presence of Temple Committee Members and large number of local Sai Devotees.

Shri Swami Keshavaiahji is the founder of the Temple. The Temple Committee is taking care of the day to day activities and overall development of the temple.

Marble Padukas brought from Shirdi and installed by his holiness Shri.Swami Keshavaiahji and Life size photograph of Dwarakamai Saibaba are present in the Sanctum Sanctorum of the Temple.

Daily Programme

Temple Timings:

Morning: 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM.
Evening: 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

  • Since his holiness Shri.Swami Keshavaiahji used to perform Saibaba Aarti with the chanting of Sai Naam Jap “Om Sai Sri Sai Jaya Jaya Sai”, the same is followed by the temple committee even to this day.
  • Rudrabhisheka and Panchamrutha Abhishek are performed daily at 7:30 AM. There is no fixed Seva Amount.
  • Sai Bhajans are held daily from 6 PM to 9 PM. Special Sai Pooja and Bhajan are held on Thursday and Sunday.

Large Scale Celebration of festivals:

  1. Gurupoornima.
  2. Swami Keshavaiah Samadhi Day on 9th August of every year.
  3. Vijayadashmi.
  4. Datta Jayanthi.

Appeal for Donation:

The temple committee wants to construct a Meditation Hall with a capacity of 100 devotees for the purpose of Meditation and Sai Satcharitra Parayan and Rajagopuram. Hence solicits monetary support from philanthropic Sai Devotees for this noble cause.
